How to play Filmy Fasaana
Filmy Fasaana (you may also see it spelled Filmy Fasana) is a free comic-strip story puzzle game set in the world of Hindi film gossip. Chintu, a small-time gossip reporter, needs a scoop. Each chapter gives you a tabloid headline and a row of empty comic panels. Fill the panels with scenes and characters, watch them act out what you built, and keep rearranging until the story matches the headline.
It's a story-building puzzle in the spirit of comic-panel games, with 13 stories, 43 chapters, secret endings and a narrator voice. It's free and plays in the browser on phones, tablets and computers.
How to play
- Tap Play on the title screen to start the first story, or sign in with Google to unlock all 13. Then pick a story from the menu.
- Read the headline. It tells you what story the gossip column wants to print.
- Drop a scene into a panel, such as a film set, a party or a talk show. On a phone, swipe to the panel and tap a scene in the tray below.
- Add characters to the scene. They react to where they are and who they're with.
- Read the panels in order. Each panel follows on from the one before, so moving one scene can change the whole story.
- Match the headline to solve the chapter and unlock the next one.
The stories
Each story follows a well-known piece of film-world gossip, retold with sound-alike names as a parody.
- Silsila Gossip Ka – a whispered love triangle that follows a famous screen pair from the 1970s film sets to the big screen.
- The Birthday Bash Brawl – a party spat between two superstars, years of “next question”, and the evening that ended it.
- The Khiladi's Triangle – an action hero, an engagement and a 1990s love triangle, told in three different versions.
- The Clash That Broke a Friendship – old friends, a festival release-date clash, and a friendship that cracked.
- The Subscriber War – a gamer and a music label race to 100 million subscribers, with diss tracks along the way.
- The Koffee Couch Burn – a talk-show jibe that made headlines, and the film the former couple made anyway.
- The Break-Up on the Jab We Met Set – a star couple splits during a train-romance shoot, and the film becomes a favourite anyway.
- The Darr Feud – a 1990s thriller, a villain who got the best song, and two leading men who kept their distance for years.
- A Dog Named Shah Rukh – a star's blog post about his pet dog sets off an internet storm.
- He Wrote, She Denied – two memoirs, two versions of one romance from a 1960s film shoot.
- Saved From the Fire – a screen pair parts ways, and a fire on a film set leads to a real-life rescue.
- Love in the Courtroom – a 1950s romance, a father's refusal, and a love story that ended in court.
- The Ring in the Arabian Sea – a 1940s screen romance, a diamond ring, and a family's “no”.
Tips
- Start with the headline's key moment and work backwards: who has to be where for that to happen?
- Try characters in different scenes. The same person acts very differently at a party, on a set or in a newsroom.
- Order matters. If a panel shows something unexpected, look at the panel before it.
- Be cheeky. The strangest arrangements are often where the secret endings hide.
- Turn the sound up: a narrator voice tells the story as you play. You can switch the narrator and sound effects on or off in Settings.
- Playing on a phone? Add Filmy Fasaana to your home screen for a full-screen game.
Frequently asked questions
Is Filmy Fasaana free?
Yes. The whole game is free, with no ads and no in-game purchases.
Do I need to sign in, and why?
Not for the first story: tap Play and start right away. To unlock the other 12 stories, sign in with Google. The game then keeps your name, email and progress so its maker knows who is playing and how far players get. Nothing is sold or shared, and there are no ad trackers.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in the browser on Android phones, iPhones, tablets and computers. On a phone, swipe between panels and tap a scene or character to drop it into the panel on screen. You can also add it to your home screen.
Is the gossip in the game real?
No. Filmy Fasaana is a parody of how gossip works. Characters have made-up, sound-alike names, and the rumours shown are not facts. Each story says what it was inspired by and where accounts differ.
How many stories and chapters are there?
There are 13 stories with 43 chapters in total. Each chapter has its own headline to match.
What are secret endings?
Some odd or cheeky arrangements of the panels unlock hidden endings, such as Chintu turning up a day late for the scoop. Each story has a few to find, and the story menu shows how many you have found.
How do I delete my data?
In the game, open Settings (the gear) and tap Delete my account. Your account and play history are erased from the server straight away. The privacy page has the details.
